Our method

We’re dedicated to helping you make the most of your time here. From hosting unforgettable social events to supporting clubs that fuel your passions, we’re here to build a strong, connected community. Whether it's a quick laugh at a coffeehouse or a new friendship sparked at a networking night, we believe it’s the small moments that make a big difference.

The UES Council empowers students to embrace what they love, explore technical interests, and grow beyond the classroom. Through academic resources, career support, and leadership opportunities, we help you perform your best today and prepare to change the world tomorrow.

Who we are

Every student enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering Science at Western is automatically a member of the Undergraduate Engineering Society (UES). The UES Council exists for one reason and for one purpose: to ensure every Western Engineering student has the best undergraduate experience possible.

What you mean to us.

Most importantly, we’re your voice. The UES represents students to the Faculty of Engineering, working to align student needs with school initiatives so real progress can happen.

Your student fee breakdown.

Student Voluntary Donation Fee

There is a $100.00 Western Engineering Donation that you and every other undergraduate engineering student can make in addition to your tuition. This is an important donation that goes toward a variety of services and funds such as student clubs and teams.

Student Lab Endowment Fund

The Western Engineering Student Endowment Laboratory (WESEL) is a $50.00 donation fee that contributes towards funding our laboratory equipment.

UES Donation Fee

A $20.00 donation fee from each undergraduate student helps us operate and provide fun activities and services for you to enjoy.

  • Interested in being apart of the UES? Are our executive members up to no good? Our by-laws are one of the very first places to start (and I have to warn you, it is very long). You can read our latest by-laws here.

  • Come see where our (and your) money is going! You can see our budget and spending reports here.

  • Come see election results here.

Co-Curricular Learning Space

A $75.00 donation fee from funds the New Engineering Building, coming September 2026.
